An SEO analyzer reads the raw HTML of a page and reports what search engines will understand from it. Ours fetches your page with a crawler similar to Googlebot, inspects every tag that affects rankings, and translates the findings into specific, prioritized fixes.

Use it to diagnose a page that isn’t ranking, to check a new page before you promote it, or to take apart a competitor’s page and see why it wins.

How the SEO analyzer works

  1. Enter the exact page URL

Use the address people actually land on, including the path — for example example.com/services/plumbing.

  2. We record the server response

The analyzer downloads the page, follows redirects and notes the status code, response time, compression and size.

  3. We parse the HTML

Title, meta tags, headings, links, images, canonical, robots directives and structured data are extracted, and robots.txt and the sitemap are tested.

  4. You get findings and fixes

A score, a findings panel showing exactly what we saw, and a ranked list of fixes with explanations.

What the analyzer looks at

Search engines judge a page on many signals. The ones you control directly fall into four groups:

  • Relevance signals — the title tag, meta description, H1 and heading outline tell Google what the page is about.
  • Indexing signals — status codes, redirects, canonical tags, robots meta tags and robots.txt decide whether the page can appear at all.
  • Quality signals — content depth, image alt text, internal links and broken links show whether the page is useful and maintained.
  • Experience signals — server response time, compression, render-blocking scripts and the mobile viewport affect Core Web Vitals and mobile usability.

Reading your results like an SEO

The findings panel shows the raw data, such as your exact title and its length. Read it first: you will often spot problems faster than any rule could — a title that still says “Home”, or a description copied from another page.

Then work through the fix list. Each item says what we found, why it matters and how to fix it. Critical items can stop a page from ranking entirely; warnings usually cost clicks or relevance; improvements are polish.

Use the analyzer on competitors

Pick the page that ranks first for your target keyword and analyze it next to yours. Compare word count, heading structure, structured data and title wording. You are not trying to copy it — you are looking for topics and signals your page is missing. Pages that rank well usually answer the searcher’s question more completely, and the analyzer makes that gap visible in a minute.

Tips for accurate analysis

  • Analyze the canonical version of a page. If you test a URL with tracking parameters, the canonical check will rightly point elsewhere.
  • Check after publishing, not only in your editor — plugins, themes and CDNs often change the final HTML.
  • If the word count is far lower than you expect, your content may be loaded by JavaScript. Make sure important text is in the server-rendered HTML.
  • Look at the structured data types found. A product page without Product markup, or an article without Article markup, is an easy win.

Limits to keep in mind

The analyzer doesn’t execute JavaScript, can’t log in, and can’t see rankings, search volume or backlinks. It tells you what your page says to search engines — the part you can fix today.

Privacy and safety

We only fetch public URLs and refuse requests to private or local network addresses. Free reports are private links that expire after 30 days. Read our privacy policy for details.

Seo analyzer: frequently asked questions

What is an SEO analyzer?

A tool that inspects a page’s HTML and server response and reports issues that affect search rankings, such as missing titles, broken links, noindex tags or slow responses.

Is the analyzer the same as Google’s view of my page?

It is very close for server-rendered pages, because we fetch the same HTML Googlebot receives. Google also renders JavaScript and uses many off-page signals we can’t see, so treat the results as the on-page half of the picture.

Can the SEO analyzer check pages behind a login?

No. Search engines can’t log in either, so pages behind a login don’t rank. Analyze the public version.

Why does the analyzer show a different word count than my editor?

We count visible text in the HTML, excluding scripts, styles and code. Navigation and footer text are included because search engines see them too.

Does it check keyword usage?

It shows your title, description, H1 and headings side by side so you can see whether your main topic appears where it matters. We deliberately don’t push keyword-density targets — writing for readers works better.

How accurate are the speed hints?

They measure what your server sends: response time from our server, compression, HTML size and render-blocking scripts. For full lab and field metrics, pair them with Google PageSpeed Insights.
